Well-Being Australia
Well-Being Australia was established by Heads of Churches in NSW as a ministry on 6 March 2000. It is a continuation of Mark and Delma Tronson’s mission being founders and leaders of the Sports and Leisure Ministry from 1982. Through this vehicle they placed Chaplains across Australia's Professional Sports and established an athlete respite facility in Moruya on the NSW south coast. This has been utilised by the Australian Institute of Sport over many years.
A national board for Well-Being Australia was selected to care for Mark and Delma Tronson after the tribulations of the national and international multi-faceted ministry which had left them partially ‘burnt out’ and lacking the energy to continue in their previous commitments.
Mark and Delma retained the Australian Cricket and Athlete Respite Ministries and were able to move into new and fresh ministry areas as they recuperated. Following 14 years living in Moruya, in December 2005 Mark and Delma relocated to Tweed Heads to replicate the Respite ministry (SE Qld AIS), then in 2011 expanded again to Laguna Quays to provide respite for Church and missionary personnel.
Since 2000 Mark and Delma have developed ministries in Art, Tourism R&D, ‘Life After Cricket’ (for retired cricketers and their families), the ‘Footplate Padre’, ‘Press Service International’, International collaborations, ‘Australian Missionary News IPTV’, ‘Country Town Tours’ (mentoring rural youth), ‘Around the Tables’ (discussions for missionary personnel), and various Community benevolent ministry ventures.
All functions integrate a gracious, dedicated and sacrificial team of volunteers, and each ministry has a succession plan to protect the future.
